I was commissioned to photograph the “Athletes’ Parade” at the start of the Tour of Britain 2014 cycle race in Liverpool.
The brief was not only to photograph the team members, but also to capture the atmosphere of the event. Once again, (as you may have read in a previous blog) my brief was somewhat different to the rest of the photographers present and most of the time while they where all in a big huddle photographing the teams, I could get images of the crowds cheering. I like this kind of job, because it allows for some creativity, and gives an alternative view (literally!) of most of the rest of the kind of images that you normally see in the media.
